It's been way too long since I made a chia jam. I only made one once, a blueberry grape version, which I loved so much and then totally forgot all about chia jam! What the heck?
And easy? It's almost too easy to be called a recipe. Well, anyway… strawberries and chia seeds. Swoon. They just happen to be my top two favorite foods on the planet. So why I waited so long to make this is beyond me, but here it is, in all its 2-ingredient glory.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, leaves removed
- 2 TBS chia seeds
- NOTE: You can add a sweetener if you like to suit your taste. But if your strawbs are sweet enough you certainly don't need to. My berries were not very ripe and a little sour so I added a tablespoon of date syrup. It was perfect.
- Mash the strawberries to a consistency you prefer. I cut them up small and used a potato masher. I like mine chunky. You could also put them in a food processor if you want a smoother jam but be careful not to process too much or the mixture will become very airy and you will lose the vibrant color of the berries!
- Add the chia seeds and mix well.
- Refrigerate.
