Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude.
Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered.
It doesn’t keep a record of wrongs that others do.
Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.
 Love never fails!
~ 1 Corinthians 3:4-8 CEV

One year ago, as we launched the Celebrations cookbook, Julie presented each of us (the ten MGCC ‘girls’) with a special handmade gift.  She embroidered ten hot-pads…each with a different scripture.  The verses were those from the list illustrated above ‘Ten ways to Love’….practical, Biblical ways to show love.

My piece of artwork was…

…Answer Without Arguing.  Proverbs 17:1

Now that seems like good advice…and since it was ‘the lot I drew’…I was sure there was a good message in it for me.  After all…who am I to argue?  I framed it and hung it in my office.  I have thought of those words often this past year.  Should I say something…or should I bite my tongue?  I have decided that in most cases it is better just to listen.  To try to understand rather than give my point of view.  To respond in a way that is encouraging rather than discouraging.

Answer without arguing.  It is a good way to show love!  They all are.
